Topic 4 "Nouns of the Second Declension (Plural Number)" 

To make the nouns of the II-st declension plural, study the example given below.

For masculine gender:

Nominativus Singularis - nervus profundus

Nominativus Pluralis - nervi profundi

Genetivus Singularis - nervi profundi

Genetivus Pluralis - nervorum profundorum

For neuter gender:

Nominativus Singularis - septum osseum

Nominativus Pluralis - septa ossea

Genetivus Singularis - septi ossei

Genetivus Pluralis - septorum osseorum

Remember these anatomical terms.

  2. canalicŭlus, i m - small canal
  3. carpus, i m - wrist                        
  4. digitus, i m - finger                      
  5. humerus, i m - shoulder               
  6. muscŭlus, i m - muscle

  8. nuclěus, i m-  nucleus, spheroid body within a cell
  9. oesophagus, i m - gullet
  10. pedicŭlus, i m - pedicle, small foot
  11. radĭus, i m - thicker and shorter bone of forearm
  12. ramus, i m - ramus
  13. sulcus, i m - furrow or groove
  14. truncus, i m - trunck
  15. ventriculus, i m – ventricle

Neuter 

  1. atrium, i n - atrium
  2. brachĭum, i n - upper arm
  3. cavum, i n - cavity
  4. cerebellum, i n - cerebellum       
  5. collum, i n - neck
  6. cranĭum, i n - skull
  7. dorsum, i n - back
  8. membrum, i n - member, extremity

  10. ostium, i n - small opening, ostium

  12. septum, i n - partition, dividing wall
